Essex Model Railway Club in Ilford.

Formed in 1930, the Ilford and West Essex Model Railway Club`s headquarters are next to Chadwell Heath Railway Station.

The Clubhouse currently holds the 8 Club layouts, which are in various stages of construction, a dedicated modelling workbench, a live steam workshop and a comprehensive Club library.

Every year monthly steam/open days are held from April through to September – the Clubhouse is then open to the public and rides are available on their 7 and a quarter gauge miniature railway.

New Members are always welcome and there is no limit on how many Club Sections you can belong to.

Members are free to use the Club premises and facilities and with Members, you gain full access to the Club Library.

The Club`s annual event, the West Essex Model Rail will be centred on their 90th anniversary celebrations. They are also currently upgrading their resident steam locomotive Excalibur.  Plans are also under way to lengthen the Carriage Shed.
