New Scale Model Club near Marlborough, Wiltshire

I’m looking to set up a new Scale Model Club in Baydon which is near Marlborough, Wiltshire. I have the hire of the village hall and I am quite flexible on the night of the week in which it should be held and in deed how often to hold it.

The club will include a wide range of scale model making genres, from military to civilian, from Sci-Fi to fantasy and every thing in between. In addition to this I also want the club to be inclusive to all model makers whether they build kits, scratch build diorama’s or modelers who play war games with their figures, vehicles and terrain. To set up a club with a growth mindset where everyone attends to learn from each other’s experiences. A club where we go to shows proud to show off our creations and maybe one day hold our own event.

My ideal club night gathering would involve members building models, discussing projects, sharing a social tea + coffee. It could even include gaming for the table top gamers

As a 40 year old hobbyist who likes to build kits, scratch build and 3d print terrain, I sometimes play table top games but mostly just love building and painting the stuff! I am a jack of all trades and master of none but I do like learning to get better.  Having two young children, I am quite time poor but I don’t see this as reason not to set up a club and see it thrive as a social group with like minded people.

I have come to a point in my life where I now realize that buying plastic kits and making them are in fact two different hobby’s.

If you live near by and you are interested in finding out more, then please contact me either through email or calling me by phone. Due to Covid 19, it may be a “while” before we can have our first club meet, but that’s no reason not to start the ball rolling today.
