Model Railway Club in Cornwall based in Hayle.
Hayle Model Railway Club is England`s most westerly model railway club.
Their models include a range of scales from N to G. There is an American Railroaders group within the Club who concentrate mainly on modelling trains from the USA.
Three exhibitions and two free workshops in the local area are organised each year.
Hayle Model Railway Club is a very friendly Club and welcome everyone, whether they be a novice or an experienced modeller.
In fact one of the Club`s principal aims is to assist newcomers with information, advice and assistance where required.
The Club currently has 4 layouts:
- Llawn Roc Yard – an 0 scale fictional model railroad somewhere in the USA.
- Wheal Anna – set in a Cornish location and representing the traditional dries associated with the china clay industry.
- Tresoddit – an 0 gauge with a scenic length of approximately 5m, representing a run-down branch line of indeterminate age and location.
- Ostrava – an 0 gauge representing the second largest conurbation in the Czch Republic after Prague, built on coal mining and metallurgy.
