The Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Club

Suffolk Model Railway Club in Bury St Edmunds.

The Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Club celebrated it`s 70th anniversary in 2019.  The Club meet every week on Thursday evenings between 7.30pm and 10.30pm and also on occasional Tuesdays, by appointment.

Prospective members and visitors are most welcome to visit the Club on a Thursday evening. However, on a first visit, it is advisable to contact the Chairman or another committee member. Visitors can then agree to meet at a convenient local village in order to be guided to the clubhouse.

An annual Membership Fee (at present £40.00 per annum) is levied for the period from 1st April to the following 31st March. This fee is reviewed at each Annual General Meeting, usually held in April, and to which all members are requested to attend.

The Club currently boasts three clubrooms:

1 – where members plan work on the large OO and N Gauge layouts both layouts currently being a work in progress.

2 – the heart of the club, where Members get together to discuss the latest news and information.  Room 2 also houses the kitchen / refreshments area.

3 – this is where Members work on our club`s layouts –  Sumware, Beyton Bridge, Peckston and Cobbolds Wharf.
