Wakefield Railway Modellers Society

Wakefield Model Railway Club in West Yorkshire.

The Wakefield Railway Modellers Society, founded in 1958.
They cater for modellers in the Wakefield area interested in small scale model trains.

The Society has spacious premises near the city centre.

Members meet every Monday and Friday evening from 7.30pm, except of Bank Holidays.

Topics include:

  • Talks
  • Demonstrations
  • Film and slide shows of railway interest
  • Model building

Guest speakers attend the Monday meeting on a regular basis.
Fridays and remaining Mondays are to working mainly on railway layouts.

The club has access to an extensive research library.

A number of British and Continental layouts ranging from 2mm to 7mm in steam, diesel and electric traction are housed in the clubroom.
