The Model Railway Club
The Model Railway Club is the oldest in the world devoted to the hobby and since 1960 has occupied its own purpose built club rooms at Keen House. Our facilities include a large social room, a vast library of over 5000 books, two rooms allocated to layout building, as well as tea and licensed bars.
The Club builds and operates exhibition layouts in a variety of scales. Copenhagen Fields (2mm-scale) is based on our own local railway, the lines out of Kings Cross and Happisburgh (O-gauge) represents a station on the Norfolk Coast. New layouts are being built – Keengate in OO, placed in the Bradford area showing the current scene and the Putnam Division – an American HO layout based in the rustbelt. We have several members layouts that are shown regularly at Keen House and our exhibition at Alexandra Palace.
Keen House is about four minutes from Kings Cross and St. Pancras main line and underground stations. Bus numbers 73, 30 and 214 stop near the door.
